Nestlé cereals - coolbrandz product test

About a month ago, I got a note from the postman in my mailbox that a package was waiting for me at the post office. When I went there to pick it up the post counter lady handed me a huge packet and I wondered what was inside... I hadn't ordered anything recently...

But when I opened it at home and saw all the cereals inside, I knew it was the testing products from coolbrandz! Yay! I was so surprised to see the amount of the cereal boxes! I thought I would just get a few little boxes for testing but they sent me 2 big boxes and 10 (!) mini box cereals!

They also sent me 10 cereal bag clips to keep the cereals airtight, crunchy and tasty several days or maybe even weeks after opening the bag. :)

So, Nestlé reformulated the cereals and they now contain less sugar (9g sugar per portion = 30g without milk) and a good amount of whole grains. Let's try...

First, I tried the Cini Minis... To be frank, I've never been a huge fan of this cinnamon-flavored squares... But I was surprised that they stayed crunchy even after 15 minutes leaving inside the bowl with milk! I remember very well how any kind of cereals got mushy in the milk when I didn't eat them quickly enough as a child...

A few days later, for the first time, I tried the "Lion" cereal. Caramel and chocolate flavor - mmmmhhrooaar they are my absolute favorite! They are soooooo yummmy! I brought some boxes for my colleague at work and she loved them, too! She was very surprised because the Lions were still crunchy after about 30 minutes when she had to leave her desk in between!

The little chocolate balls from Nesquik are also tasty and veeeeery crunchy! It even contains 45% of whole grains but tastes like some kind of dessert!

I am very satisfied with the new Nestlé cereals! Less sugar but doesn't taste boring at all! Very crunchy and doesn't get mushy!
WELL DONE, NESTLÉ! And THANK YOU COOLBRANDZ for chosing me for tasting! :D

Goodbye Cory Monteith

When I heard the news about Cory Monteith's death last Sunday afternoon I had to cry. I was so shocked, so devastated. I couldn't believe it... I first thought it was a bad joke...
WHY? Why did he have to die? Why him?
Then, today morning, the cause of his death was revealed: overdose of Heroin and alcohol... Oh my God..... Why, why WHY?! WHY THE HELL DID HE DO THAT?!?!? SO STUPID!
Yes, we all knew about his substance abuse but that was in the past, right? He seemed to be SO HAPPY with his girlfriend Lea Michele. He checked into rehab early this year and we all thought he was clean finally!
Now, I'm disappointed and angry with him... Why would he ruin his life when everything was going so well? He was a talented singer and actor, was so happy with his role in "glee", he was playing in a band as a drummer, he had his love of his life and they apparently wanted to get married and start a family!!!!! WHY ON EARTH WOULD HE THEN TAKE HEROINE?! What was wrong with him?
Poor Lea, I can only imagine what she is going through right now... Instead of the wedding she has to plan his funeral.......
No more Finn Hudson in glee, no more movies with Cory, no more Bonnie Dune with Cory as a drummer, there will be never Cory as husband and father... You will be SO missed... I just can't believe that you are gone for good.....

Dear God and Angels please, PLEASE take care of Lea, Cory's family and friends. Give them strengths, hope and love during this difficult time... Please take a good care of Cory, too...

Goodbye Cory...

Berlin

A few weeks ago, I went to Berlin for 3 days with my colleagues. We stayed at "Hotel Berlin, Berlin", a modern, clean, big (one of the largest in Berlin) hotel with a nice breakfast buffet.
Very recommended!

I met with my bff from my highschool who's been living in Berlin for several years and she showed me around in Berlin Mitte (the "mid" of the city) which is - according to her - the prettiest area.
We went to "Princess Cheesecake" a lovely cake shop to have a cup of tea with cake. She knows me so well, she just knew instantly where to take me. ;)

    Look at all these cakes!!!!

    drool...

Afterwards we went to Rosenhöfe, a very pretty courtyyard in the Hackesche Höfe area.

This fancy accessory shop is called "Tukadu" and you can find it at the Rosenthalerstrasse 46/47!

This is typical Berlin to me... Very underground and artsy. Rosenthalerstrasse 39.

    So old school!
Look at this cute guy! ♥

For supper we had Currywurst. Apparently, this "Konnopke's Imbiss" has the best and the original curry sausage.
It is also popular among the Germans and has a long line.

This was my 2nd trip to Berlin so I didn't visit (again) all the famous tourist places like the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag Building, Alexanderplatz etc. It is really an interesting city, lots of things to see and everything is so cheap! I will definitely come back - next time with my sweetie. :)

Brunch at Les Gourmandises de Miyuko

Ahhhh, I totally neglected my blog! SORRY!
The past few weeks I was busy at work and also in my private life, then I got sick and even got an injury - but I'm fine now. ;)

On Sunday, I went to "Les Gourmandises de Miyuko" for brunch with two of my girl friends. I had heard so much about this place and wanted to come here so badly ever since but couldn't find the opportunity - until last Sunday. OMG, when I entered the café I couldn't stop saying "awwww, so pretty" anymore! I LOVED everything about that place! It's sooooo cute! It's like it was made for me! (Actually, that's what I thought about Ladurée, too ;-P )
This place is popular for its cute Japanese-style decoration, for the vegetarian, vegan gluten-free and lactose-free food!

The brunch comes on a tiered cake stand: Birchermüsli, ham & cheese, some vegetables, a bag full of bread and of course dessert on top!

                                                                          Inside the café

                              Awwwwwww! ♥

I felt sooooo good & comfortable the whole time while sitting in Les Gourmandises de Miyuko. It's a perfect place for girly girls and wannabe-princesses! ;D I should come here more often! ♥
....Ok, but there is one little thing I wasn't satisfied with from this place if I may be honest: the sweets... The dessert was too sweet for me... They all look pretty & perfect and are handmade with so much love but I didn't love it... However, that doesn't stop me to come here again to try the Afternoon Tea! ;D
This place is hidden and not located in the middle of the city but that's a good thing. Otherwise it would be TOTALLY overcrowded like all the nice cafés that exist too little in Zurich...

Brunch and Afternoon Tea is available EVERY DAY!!! Make sure to make a reservation for weekends!

Brunch:             CHF 29.-  (gluten-free: 32.-)
Afternoon Tea:  CHF 39.- (gluten-free: 42.-)
